I love the concept, and if I can feel like I’m saving my city while slurping down oysters, then that’s definitely a bonus. I have a basic layperson’s understanding how having oysters in a body of water helps to clean the water, since they’re filter feeders. What isn’t clear from this video is how oyster shells are helpful. Also, if they are helpful, do they have to be oyster shells? Most of the B roll shots in the video show clams being cooked. Do they also use the shells of clams and other bivalves? I realize that oysters are culturally sexier than cockles, clams and the like, but aren’t their shells kind of made of the same stuff?
